My boys and I, love making pizza.
Making Pizza Fun
We get really excited in the process …my boys love it when they get to stretch the pizza dough. As for me I have to admit the cheese does it for me…love picking out of the pizza. My boys, and my brother get really annoyed when I do this to the pizza.
The process of making pizza is easy, but the look and excitement in my house is far more rewarding than the actual final result. My boys literally can’t believe that we don’t have to buy pizza, and that we can create our very own…if it was for them I would be making pizza everyday.
Zen of Pizza
It takes basic ingredients, you can always pre-prepare the dough and let it rest for a couple hours or all day.
I started early in the morning all left it eight hours to rest…enough time for my boys come out from school.
To start you have to play and get messy. Knead the dough for about ten minutes until the dough doesn’t feel clumpy…do this at the begging, and after the rising of the dough. I have to admit that after a long day I started releasing some of my build up tension…which made my body feel relaxed after a while. Automatically I started feeling happy.
It was also therapy for my boys as they gathered and asked with a smile, “Where making Pizza?” laughter and positive energy radiated through the kitchen. And theirs no greater feeling in knowing their wont be a battle or debate at dinner time.
No Culinary School Needed
Unless your opening a restaurant, planning to impress an important guest…then this is the perfect recipe for you and your family. My critics are no food experts and they love me…reason why I can get away with almost anything when it comes food…bare in mind almost but not necessarily.
But I have to admit that this one is a winner for me, simple yet bready, cheesy delicious pizza.
No fancy baking Pizza Stone…though I’m looking into it since it’s becoming a frequent request. And my perfectionist side always manages to condemn me for it while making pizza.
I’m also torn between All purpose flour and Bread Flour…but the awesome part is that you get to decide. I’ve worked with both and All purpose flour is easier to stretch and less tougher to handle.
The Bread Flour is tougher to handle and less stretchier, but the texture is far more satisfying…ask my family.
I made two pizzas using the same dough that night. One pizza was left a little thicker, and second pizza was stretched enough to make it thin. I will have to leave it up to you…depending of how thick you love your pizza.
